Aniline leather is the most natural and exclusive type of leather. The leather is dyed exclusively with transparent aniline dyes, which preserve the skin's natural structure, pores, and any marks. The surface is not covered with a protective pigment or lacquer, which gives it a very soft, warm, and authentic look.
The untreated surface of aniline leather allows the leather to breathe, contributing to a very high level of seating comfort.
All natural marks such as veins, scars, grease stripes, neck folds, hair follicles, tick marks/insect bites, burn marks, and color variations will be visible in the skin and help tell the story of the cow's life. These natural marks contribute greatly to the exclusivity of the leather as well as its comfort through the high breathability provided by the open hair follicles.
Aniline leather develops a beautiful patina over time, but is very sensitive to stains, sunlight, and wear. It therefore requires extra care and is best suited to environments where aesthetics are a high priority.
